Kevin's Tale of Many Gamers 2014

Postby Inquisitor Wall » Sun Dec 29, 2013 2:37 pm

To kick things off this year I am going to pledge to complete my Khmeri blood bowl team. All models except the mummies which were completed last year. I am also going to pledge to complete a malifaux rail golem.

Shifted focus this month away from the Blood Bowl team, and while I made a little progress on them, no models were completed. However, I did complete 9 taunts for templecon.

Also I completed that pesky rail golem, which means my rail crew is finished. I think I am going to add some gun slingers to them though.

If I can finish my dojo tonight that will give me a terrain piece too.

I was unable to get the dojo completed over the weekend, but Ill post a picture when it is done.

My pledge for February will be to assemble the western saloon I have, paint 2 Arcanist gunsmiths, and Lady J crew.

A little over midway through February, but making steady progress on my pledge. I completed the dojo from last month, and the gunsmiths pledged for this month. I hate that they are so shiny, but I can't matte finish them until the weather is nicer.

The dojo was completely frustrating, and my solution basically came down to throwing more glue at it. To top it off the roof fit oddly so each of the sections does not line up properly.

The lady J crew I pledged is almost done, and hopefully tonight I can start on assembling the western saloon.

I love that Dojo. When I get some spare gaming money, I might need to hit that site.

What did you use to paint the Rail Golem's legs? That wood finish came out fantastic.

The rail golem's legs were done with a reaper light leather color and a devlan mud wash.
I was pretty happy with how the wood turned out too.

February completions:
Lady J crew

It was a pretty fun crew to paint and I really like the new lady j and scales of justice models. Not a fan of the judge, but I think that's more because I painted him black and the model kept reminding me of the wicked witch from wizard of OZ.

Also completed assembling the western saloon

Absolutely love the terrain from sarissa Percision. Every thing I assemble from them fits together really well, and have very nice detail.

For the month of March I am goi to be pledging a bit more than I think I can do, but hopefully I can find the time.
Pledges:
Misaki crew
Mechanical rider
10 chaos cultists
2 cherry tree stands

Nice work Kev! It's funny, that's the paint scheme I had chosen for Nids...but then decided I hated painting them.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

It was a pretty fun, and easy paint scheme. Im not sure if I would like it for a complete army, but it wasn't bad for a small number of them.
