Winter 2019 40K Kill Team League Rules

Post by Inquisitor Wall » Thu Nov 29, 2018 2:40 pm

Welcome to our first KillTeam league. The league will be broken into 3 periods, each period of the league will last for 2 weeks (period 1 1/2/2019-1/15/2019, period 2 1/16/2019-1/29/2019, period 3 1/30/2019-2/13/2019). Players are responsible for tracking their own KillTeam using the Google sheet that has been shared with them. Each player can play up to 3 games per period, one of which is an assigned scenario and two free games. Each game will need to be reported using the Google form for that period in order to be tracked for the league.

Roster development:

Each player develops a roster of up to 200 points worth of minis which may include up to one commander. All units must come from the same faction, and must follow the standard roster construction found in the Kill Team core book and the Commander expansion or the Rogue Trader expansion. If both players agree any scenario can be played at the standard 100 point level, 150 point level or 200 point level. Commanders can only be used in the 200 point level games.

Unit costs will increase for units that gain experience levels, and need to be updated as they level up.

Players can choose any of their units when playing a scenario, but cannot go above the 100 points for the game.

Resources: Each Kill team starts the league with a total of 20 resource points that can be distributed amongst the four categories of resources. No resource can start at 0 or above 10. In addition to the starting 20 resource points, players may earn up to three (3) additional starting resource points (1 point each) for completing the following pre-league actions:

1- Write up a background story to the kill team. Must be at least one paragraph of fluff describing the kill team. This can either be posted with the roster, or somewhere public (Facebook, forum, etc.)

1- Post a photo of the kill team fully assembled prior to the start of the league. If not all of the models are complete, at least those in the starting 100 points.

1- Submit a complete 200 point roster prior to the start date for the league.

After each period of the league, players can receive up to two (2) additional resource points to add to any category by completing the following actions.

1- Post a photo of a newly painted member of the kill team, or a picture of all members of the kill team fully painted.

1- Continue the fluff of the kill team to include the games that took place during the league period.

If both players are tied for an effect, they roll off as normal. For example if both players have 10+ for intelligence, they would roll off for initiative as normal.

Prizes:
We will be using the Games Workshop Organized Play kit for Killteams as well as store credit being awarded to players in the league.

First, Second and Third place medals will be awarded to the players with the most combined resource points at the end of the league.

First place will also receive a gift certificate (2nd and 3rd place will also receive gift certificates if more than 12 people register for the league)

The digitally signed artwork will be awarded to the player with the best looking kill team at the end of the league (voted by the players in the league)

A Gift certificate will be awarded to the favorite opponent over the course of the league (voted for by the players in the league)

To be eligible for the prize at the end, players need to submit results for at least one game each period, and respond to the end of the league survey.

Each player who submits a legal roster, and pays the entrance fee prior to the start of the league will receive a set of 6 objective markers.

Each player who completes at least the required game for each period of the league will will receive 4 special edition command cards at the end of each period.

At the end of each period, the player with the most combined resource points for each faction will receive the faction button for their faction.

When a player completes their fourth game of the league, they will receive a set of kill team dice.

Playing Games:

Games can be organized, and played where ever players agree, but I would recommend trying to get in games with a variety of opponents.

If both players agree, the free play games may include any of the hostile environments special rules.

Each of the assigned games must be played against a different opponent.

All free play games should use the scenarios for matched play scenarios, and scenarios from the Commanders book can only be used if players are playing a game that involves commanders.

Games must be reported within two (2) days of the end of each period to be counted.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Have fun!
