Won my first league game!

35 pts
pBaldur vs Kallus
Scenario: Recon

Win by assassination.

My first time facing Legion, and I've heard plenty about how they're one of Circle's worst matchups due to ignoring so many of our defensive abilities such as stealth, and forests.
Top of turn 2 I had range with Ghetorix to charge the Scythean, but rolled pathetically low for damage, after putting Ghetorix at full fury. Little did I know about The Forsaken's ability that adds an extra die to a pow 8 damage roll for each fury on an enemy model. Even at dice -13 (Ghet was armor 21 - 17 +2 for unyielding and +2 for stone skin), the Forsaken's attacked managed to do a whopping 21 damage! Needless to say, the Scythean finished the job next turn and I lost a my main beatstick early on in the game.

Luckily, Megalith was able to take out the Throne of Everblight in two massive hits.

Baldur himself was able to take out a Nephilim Soldier, and leaving only some Shredders on the table for beasts.
One of my favorite moments was my Stone Keeper sending a rocker hammer at the spawning vessel taking out all the grunts but one. Not that it swung the game any particular way.

Eventually though, Kallus was in range of Baldur. Before that though, Megalith charged his Forsaken (which was standing right next to Kallus) taking it out easily and then popping his animus to reduce Kallus's defense from 15 (+1 from tenacity) to 13.
He had two shredders in front of him, but they were just far enough back not to create a quagmire and I got to Kallus with reach range of Baldur, who was sitting on 6 fury.
I boosted the first hit to ensure Weight of Stone was applied, which meant he now down to Defense 10, which meant I had 5 more attacks coming that I could on miss on snake eyes. However, with 2 transfers, it came down to my last fury, and he was on 3 health, with dice -3 I rolled a 6 for the win.

I think the biggest benefit of this game was learning some of Legion's ridiculous tricks, and the importance of their solos. Next time I'll focus more on scalpel operations to remove solos before trying to attrition beasts.

Excellent work. I really like the look of the robes.

Great looking paint so far. Funny how I have no desire to play Warmahordes, but the idea of just painting for a league is fun.

Great paint job. Looks like this is going to be a good looking army.
