Mantic just posted the 2e rules for Kings of War. It's a free download.
This just goes to show: No matter how stupid and useless a weapon may look to you, some guy in Asia with too much time on his hands has figured out how to use it to kill five ninjas.

Comp rules...look legit at a glance but rumored to be from one store. Just might work. For an AoS tournament at a GW.

Ooh look, errata and missions:

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Unfortunately they're not the FULL rules. Lack of artifacts and scenarios in the main rulebook is a given, sure--it's an incentive to get the dead-tree version and pretty much everyone is okay with that--but the army lists are actually incomplete. There's some units not included in there that were in the beta, though they apparently might be tossing them up at a later date once the actual physical rulebook is out (or some people are saying).

It's a bit of a bait-and-switch here, really; at no point did they communicate that "these rules will be free, but not complete" or even say "free TRIAL rules." People are getting pissy about that, and I think they might be right there--you don't just toss away all that potential free will from jaded WHFB players jumping ship.

Still, the beta army list document is still online and is current with what has been released, so there's that. It's still a big step up from the offerings from GW as of late, but it does knock some of the wind out of the sail.

Also I read the errata that Dez linked and I find it absolutely hilarious that the very first thing in the errata document to make the game playable competitively is "ignore this entire glaring bullshit rule everybody pointed out after one game."

Has anyone else seen this? http://www.louisvillewargaming.com/Files/AzyrComp.pdf
Seems to be a much better comp than GW's.

I like that Jeff. It seems pretty fair, though almost all of us will be playing in the "Large Battle" area I think.

Yeah it would be fun to give it a try sometime, though I think we should make war machines 2 points instead of 1.
